Even two months after #OTWOLTheLastFlight, we still see #OTWOLSepanxForever trending on Twitter na para bang 9:30 na ulit at lalabas na sina Leah at Clark.
OTWOL has indeed reached multimedia success. It was the first teleserye on primetime to ever transcend the TV screens to practically anything consumable for its audiences. From the highest of ratings on TV, we also got to hear JaDine’s original songs everywhere, which eventually became part of OTWOL’s soundtrack during the latter months. Every night was a trending night for every OTWOL episode, even garnering a record-high number for its finale with almost 4million tweets. Online presence was so strong that even after two months of airing, the website called OTWOLISTA.com, which eventually became a peg for succeeding primetime shows, was a home to every OTWOL fan. It housed all behind-the-scene shots and videos, updates and contests that surely would complete an OTWOLISTA’s experience.
But, OTWOL was not only strong on TV and computer screens. OTWOL was everywhere – on t-shirts, pillows, bags, suitcases, mugs, bag tags, rings. Kahit ano pa ‘yan, siguradong may mukha nina Leah at Clark ‘yan. It even paved the way for literature and spoken word poetry to be mainstream. Books were all sold out and Juan Miguel Severo, another artist who helped build the pillars of OTWOL’s story, became a household name, the same way Daryl Ong, Erik Santos and Kyla turned the ally and enemy of every OTWOLISTA.
Mall show after mall show, concert after concert, OTWOL was drawing crowds from all places. The scrapbook launch far, far up in the north at Ayala Fairview Terraces or even the mall tour down south in Market Market, ready na ready ang JaDines sumugod. The number of people was sky high and the amount of support was certainly overwhelming.
And, because of OTWOL’s undeniable success, our Clark and Leah were only foreshadowing what has yet to come for our James and Nadine. Soon, they were led to a love story of their own, one that would certainly confirm #TeamReal. A TV special was created specifically for them and even their world tour specials shown on every Sunday of April were irresistible to absolutely anyone. All these finally writing the wonderful yet continuously rising careers of our dear Multimedia Prince and Princess, a title they have rightfully earned and owned.
For all of OTWOL’s success and the beginning of a #TeamReal love story, thank you, ABS-CBN, Dreamscape, Viva, Direk Tonet, Direk Jojo, OTWOL staff and crew. OTWOL could not have achieved so much if it weren’t for game changers like you. Truly, there has been no other thing that has flown as high as OTWOL had. Achieve na achieve! 🙂
