#OTWOLGameChanger

Even two months after #OTWOLTheLastFlight, we still see #OTWOLSepanxForever trending on Twitter na para bang 9:30 na ulit at lalabas na sina Leah at Clark.

OTWOL has indeed reached multimedia success. It was the first teleserye on primetime to ever transcend the TV screens to practically anything consumable for its audiences. From the highest of ratings on TV, we also got to hear JaDine’s original songs everywhere, which eventually became part of OTWOL’s soundtrack during the latter months. Every night was a trending night for every OTWOL episode, even garnering a record-high number for its finale with almost 4million tweets. Online presence was so strong that even after two months of airing, the website called OTWOLISTA.com, which eventually became a peg for succeeding primetime shows, was a home to every OTWOL fan. It housed all behind-the-scene shots and videos, updates and contests that surely would complete an OTWOLISTA’s experience.

But, OTWOL was not only strong on TV and computer screens. OTWOL was everywhere – on t-shirts, pillows, bags, suitcases, mugs, bag tags, rings. Kahit ano pa ‘yan, siguradong may mukha nina Leah at Clark ‘yan. It even paved the way for literature and spoken word poetry to be mainstream. Books were all sold out and Juan Miguel Severo, another artist who helped build the pillars of OTWOL’s story, became a household name, the same way Daryl Ong, Erik Santos and Kyla turned the ally and enemy of every OTWOLISTA.

Mall show after mall show, concert after concert, OTWOL was drawing crowds from all places. The scrapbook launch far, far up in the north at Ayala Fairview Terraces or even the mall tour down south in Market Market, ready na ready ang JaDines sumugod.  The number of people was sky high and the amount of support was certainly overwhelming.

And, because of OTWOL’s undeniable success, our Clark and Leah were only foreshadowing what has yet to come for our James and Nadine. Soon, they were led to a love story of their own, one that would certainly confirm #TeamReal. A TV special was created specifically for them and even their world tour specials shown on every Sunday of April were irresistible to absolutely anyone. All these finally writing the wonderful yet continuously rising careers of our dear Multimedia Prince and Princess, a title they have rightfully earned and owned.

For all of OTWOL’s success and the beginning of a #TeamReal love story, thank you, ABS-CBN, Dreamscape, Viva, Direk Tonet, Direk Jojo, OTWOL staff and crew. OTWOL could not have achieved so much if it weren’t for game changers like you. Truly, there has been no other thing that has flown as high as OTWOL had. Achieve na achieve! 🙂

This Time Movie Review

If you haven’t seen This Time yet, you’re missing out. Here’s a quick movie review on JaDine’s summer kilig movie. 🙂 I wrote it in the perspective of a non-JaDine fan and the review is solely for this movie and not as compared to JaDine’s previous ones. (Because if you’re a JaDine fan, there’s no doubt that you’ll love it! Plus, you’d also think that this is, by far, JaDine’s best movie yet. 🙂 For sure! )

———————————

I watch movies to be moved.

I am drawn to films that slowly allow beautiful stories to unfold and characters to evolve through time. This is, what I feel, This Time lacks. The story is simple – Ava and Coby struggle to define their relationship because they only see each other during the summer. The storytelling isn’t as progressive as I would’ve wanted it to be because in some parts of the film, it loses momentum. It needed more conflict and more depth, which I think could’ve made the movie richer.

However, I also watch movies to be entertained.

My heart was tugged with a brief snuggle between Coby and Ava or how adorable it was that they were growing up together . I was giggling at the slightest touch of hands and the stolen glances between childhood sweethearts and special friends. I was laughing hard at the Buhay family’s incredible comedic timing and infectious positivity. This Time shone a positivity that not a lot of other films do. It was incredibly heartwarming to audiences because it presented love in the purest of forms – unadulterated, honest, real and unwavering.

You will inevitably get drawn to JaDine’s irresistible chemistry. The music will make you feel nostalgic and raw, and the overall dialogue between characters are relatable. All these set against a beautiful Japan background will definitely make anyone fall in love with being in love.

Reviewing films depend on several aspects. While I think the movie could’ve added more backstory, conflict and depth, it still managed to do its job, which is to make me feel something. I may not have been intellectually-moved and it may not have raised discourse, but it filled my heart with joy and hope, knowing that love in many forms – familial, platonic or even romantic, are nonethelss special and magical.

Let us know what you think of the movie! 🙂 send us your comments and/or reviews. Hope you enjoyed!

Love is Precious: London Travelogue

This post is long overdue but better late than never, right? 🙂

Right after their romantic moments in Paris, James and Nadine took a two-hour train ride to London and even the train ride itself gave us so much OJD.

Isn’t James falling asleep on Naddie’s shoulder the cutest? :”>

This special covers their entire trip to London and they show us the many reasons why love is precious — whatever kind of love it may be. Whether it may be the love for the fans, friends, family, and even love for a special someone. Any kind of love is special and precious and as Nadine said, love is precious because love is the best feeling in the world.

JaDine received a not so warm welcome from London because it was cold and rainy but that did not stop them from exploring London and from showing us how much love is precious.

LOVE FOR THE FANS

12983248_1112935585460506_9127682303987359988_o

Remember the ategirl (Christine) who was a theatre actress? She pretended to be a stalker fan to prove if Nadine was the jealous type. Well, her mission wasn’t much of a fail because she was able to prove something else. She proved that no matter how busy or whatever James and Nadine may be doing, they will always stop to take a picture with their fans. Kahit na haggard at pagod na sila, pagbibigyan parin nila. She was able to show how grateful Nadine and James were to have the fans around. Take note, they don’t just stop and leave, if they have the time, they will try to talk and entertain the fans as much as they can.

Jadine-Flyhigh-London-13

See what I mean? 🙂

LOVE FOR FRIENDS

What they showed us for this point was how JaDine gave love to our kababayans in London by visiting the Filipinos who were working at St. Peter’s Hospital in Surrey, England and visited some patients as well.

rthrtgh

LOVE FOR FAMILY

Personally, this part of the episode made me tear up. From Scotland, Mommy Ella went London to be at the concert just to see and support her baby James whom she hasn’t seen for a long time now.

Look at how happy baby James is to see his mom (who wouldn’t be though?)

…and here is what Mommy Ella has to say to James:

LOVE FOR THE ONE YOU LOVE/SPECIAL SOMEONE: THE JADINE LOVE

The episode (actually the TV Special itself) itself is enough proof to show how special THE JADINE LOVE is. The London episode showed us that even the simple things make love so special. From their car ride to their location for the London press con, the little things that they were doing were proof  — the goofing around to the nose picking (how did that turn to be so cute?!!) to the simple push and pulls to the countless I love you’s to the sniffing and even the boyfriend duties: personal photographer and musical dates. These little things are actually the big things. The size of the gesture doesn’t really matters as long as what you do is full of sincerity and love, it will be more than enough.

Don’t be afraid to fall in love. Show your special someone how much you love her.

— James Reid
